Kinnear To Start Newcastle Revival

admin 1st October, 2008

New Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear was in charge of team affairs for the first time yesterday after being handed the temporary position of Newcastle boss for eight weeks.

The appointment was made by Mike Ashley last week in a bid, that Ashley hopes will bring some stability and control into the club as he looks to sell his share in the club.

Newcastle have being managerless for a few weeks now after Kevin Keegan walked out, but they had made Chris Hughton caretaker manager.

Kinnear conducted his first training session with the squad on Tuesday, having given the players Monday off as he settled into his role as temporary boss.

Whether the appointment of Kinnear is beneficial to Newcastle or not remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, this appointment is a bizzare one.

Kinnear has no real managerial experience at a big club, and has being out of work for a few years, so to come in and expect him to steady the ship over an eight week period might be a big ask.
