Michael Owen on Ryan Giggs at Manchester United

Michael Owen believes that Ryan Giggs will leave Manchester United if ever Jose Mourinho becomes the next manager.

Some pundits have pointed out that Giggs should be the next Manchester United manager because he knows the club inside out. But there are reports that Manchester United might have a tacit agreement with the Portuguese to manage the Red Devils next season.

However, Michael Owen believes that the task at hand can be beyond Giggs ability at the moment. He told the media that Giggs can one day manage the Red Devils but for the time being the team needs an experienced manager to take them out of their current problems. He believes that Mourinho has the necessary talent to put United back on track. He did not think that Giggs will stay as Mourinhoassistant and that he will be better off learning at another club.

Michael Owen has enjoyed a successful career in the Premier League. He started his career with Liverpool during the 1996-1997 seasons when he signed his first professional contract. After that, he left for the Spanish team, Real Madrid where he managed 41 appearances and scored 15 goals in the process.

Following the arrival of Baptista and Robinho, Michael Owen returned to the Premier League with Newcastle. He managed 79 appearances with his new team and scored 30 goals. His good form attracted the attention of Manchester United where he signed in 2009. He will manage 52 appearances for the Red Devils and score 17 goals for them. He finished his career with Stoke in the Premier League where he made only 9 appearances. Frequent injuries prevented him from having a sustained run in the team and he scored only one goal.
