Henderson heaps praise on Tottenham ahead of Champions League final

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has said that Tottenham Hotspur should not be underestimated during next month’s Champions League final. The Reds were the better side than Spurs in the league as they finished 26 points ahead while beating them on both occasions when they met.

Despite this, Henderson is not taking the north London side lightly and believes the Reds could be braced for a tough Champions League final in Madrid, he said: "It means everything. For the club, for the fans, for everybody involved, but most importantly for the players. Not many people would have thought [it was possible] at the start of the season - especially at the end of last season, it was a difficult end. We all know how good Spurs are - great players and on the day, they can beat anybody really. So it'll be a really tough final. So we need to be ready."

On paper, Liverpool have the better defensive and attacking setup when compared to Spurs and that should offer them the edge for the competition’s final. However, they were made to sweat for the 2-1 league triumph over Spurs earlier this year and Pochettino’s team are certain to give the best shot of securing a maiden Champions League crown.

Both Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino have failed to secure a single trophy since making the switch to the Premier League but one of them will certainly break the drought when the teams face off at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on June 1. Spurs have been hampered by injury concerns during the backend of the campaign but they have received a positive boost with both Harry Kane and Harry Winks expected to be deemed fit for the Champions League final. Kane has a good scoring record against Liverpool with five goals from nine appearances.
