ROONEY JOINS OWEN IN RACING GAME

Wayne Rooney has taken the next Manchester United star after Michael Owen to join the league of race horse owners.

Wayne Rooney has recently spent £ 63,000 on a two-year-old colt.

Brought as a Christmas present, the two-year-old colt will help Wayne Rooney join the league of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Michael Owen as a proud owner of a race horse. Wayne Rooney was recently seen at the Manchester airport boarding the flight for the Netherlands. Manchester United will be playing Ajax over the course of two weeks to determine their passage into the next round of the Europa league.

After making the expansive purchase, Wayne Rooney has said that he has named his race horse as Switcharooney. It has been rumoured that Wayne Rooney initially wanted to name the horse as switcheroo, but had to make changes to the name at the final moment due to the fact that it has already been registered by another owner.

Wayne Rooney will not be the single owner of the horse, as it will be shared with his wife Coleen. It has also been rumoured that Oceans Seven was also one of the names Wayne Rooney had in mind prior to naming his horse.

"You can bet that these names will go in every punter's notebook. Rooney has a great strike rate so it's hard to imagine that his nags won't score as well," Chief Executive of Racing for Change, Rod Street said in a recent interview.

Following the news about the purchase of this new horse, Michael Owen was quick to tweet his feelings. "After weeks of indecision, Wazza has decided to call his horse Switcharooney! Let's hope he is a good un!" Michael Owen said on Twitter. The former Newcastle United star is currently out with an injury.
